KALMAN Y1 - 1974/03/01 UR - http://dmd.aspetjournals.org/content/2/2/148.abstract N2 - A gas chromatographic analysis to demonstrate the presence of dihydrodigoxin in urine from patients receiving maintenance doses of digoxin has been employed. Dihydrodigoxin, a relatively inactive metabolite of digoxin, was detected in 48 of 50 samples of urine from 50 human subjects. Dihydrodigoxin was, on the average, 13% of the glycosides in the methylene chloride extract of urine (SD ± 9%). Clinical implications of this study are discussed.
