Only a minute amount (approximately 1%) of unchanged pentobarbital was found in the urine. Four major metabolites were found and isolated. One was 3'-hydroxypentobarbital, which has been previously identified by Maynert. The second could be identified as N-hydroxypentobarbital on the basis of its spectral and chemical properties. The other two metabolites were not identified.
