Values are given as mean ± S.E.M. (n = 13 rats). The skin of the back of each rat was cut into four parts. Parts 1 and 2 correspond to the skin from the shoulders and parts 3 and 4 correspond to the skin from the haunches. For each animal, parts 1 and 4 or 2 and 3 were tested with the same dose of [14C]NMP (25 to 400 μl/cm2).
