Change in biological parameters in DSS-colitis rats

Rats were given 3% DSS in drinking water for 7 days or a 4 mg/kg intraperitoneal dose of LPS. The sampling was performed on the 7th day, or 8 and 24 h after the injection of LPS. MPO activity of homogenate from colon mucosa, endotoxin in serum from portal vein, and serum ALT activity were determined. Results are means ± S.E. of four (control, LPS) or eight (DSS) rats.
