  • a The mixture containing 0.1 μmol of benzaldehyde and skin cytosol in 0.1 M postassium/sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) was incubated at 37°C for 15 min. Benzoic acid formed was determined using HPLC.

  • b The mixture containing 0.1 μmol of 1-methylxanthine and skin cytosol in 0.1 M potassium/sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) was incubated at 37°C for 20 min. 1-Methyluric acid formed was determined using HPLC.
