Portal endotoxin and cytokines in rats with TNBS-colitis Rats were treated intracolonically with 100 mg/kg TNBS dissolved in 30% ethanol or 30% ethanol alone (control). Blood of the rats was obtained from the portal veins 3 days after dosing, and endotoxin and cytokines in the serum were determined. Results are means ± S.E. of 4 to 8 rats.
