Summary of the study design The study consisted of two parts (PI and PII), and the animals received four different treatments (TI–TIV). The sampling sites were blood drawn from three blood vessels (VP, VH, and VF), bile collected directly from the cannulated bile duct at 20-min intervals, intestinal perfusate samples collected at 10-min intervals (100-min perfusion) or 20-min intervals (360-min perfusion), and liver samples taken at the end of the experiment (t = 6 h).
