Total transcripts for each TF transcripts in human liver, brain, cerebellum, dura mater, and 16 human brain regions

Results, expressed as n-fold differences in TF gene expression relative to the TBP gene, termed NTF, were determined by the formula: NTF = 2–ΔCtsample, where ΔCt value of the sample was determined by subtracting the average Ct value of the TF gene from the average Ct value of the TBP gene. The NTF values of the samples were subsequently normalized to a basal transcript level, that is, to the smallest amount of TF transcript quantifiable (TF gene Ct value = 32, and then scored as the smallest NTF value, i.e., NTF value = 1).
