Abstract

Normeta- and norparanephrine disappear at similar rates when incubated with human blood. The simultaneous appearance of noradrenaline demonstrates that at least a part of this degradation is caused by O-demethylation.

Human blood seems to contain one or several enzymatic system(s) able to degrade ortho-methoxy phenols specifically.
