Clinical Studies and Therapies in Parkinson’s Disease: Translations from Preclinical Models
2021, Clinical Studies and Therapies in Parkinson's Disease: Translations from Preclinical ModelsOverexpression of VMAT-2 and DT-diaphorase protects substantia nigra-derived cells against aminochrome neurotoxicity
2012, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta - Molecular Basis of DiseaseCitation Excerpt :The reaction was measured spectrophotometrically by following the reduction of cytochrome C, which continuously reoxidize the reduced menadione at 550 nm and employing an extinction coefficient of 18.5 mM− 1 cm− 1. DT-Diaphorase activity was calculated by inhibiting the quinone reductase activity with dicoumarol [29]. The cells were incubated with cell culture medium but in the absence of bovine serum and phenol red for 24 h.

2000, Chemico-Biological InteractionsCitation Excerpt :The two-electron reduction of quinones produces the comparatively stable hydroquinone that is removed by conjugation with glutathione and UDP-glucuronic acid. At least three different forms of rat liver cytosolic NQOs have been identified, although the genetic relationship between these forms remains to be elucidated [28–30]. Two isofunctional forms (hydrophilic and hydrophobic) of NQO have also been reported in mouse liver cytosol [31].
