Glucuronides of the mono-, di-, and trinitrates of PE were obtained by applying counter-current distribution techniques to the urine and bile of rats treated with 14C-PE trinitrate. PE glucuronide was not detected in this urine or bile, and could not be biosynthesized from PE either by direct glucuronidation with uridine diphosphate glucuronic acid or by transglucuronidation with phenolphthalein glucuronide.
