The only substrates which appeared to resist enzymatic denitration totally were PE mononitrate and PE mononitrate glucuronide. The susceptibility of the other substrates decreased in the sequence: PE trinitrate > PE dinitrate, PE trinitrate glucuronide > PE dinitrate glucuronide. PE and its mono-, di-, and trinitrates were tested for ability to undergo glucuronidation by rat liver microsomes and uridine diphosphate glucuronic acid.
